Air Force closed as a 9-point underdog and won outright. It was unranked Air Force taking down the No. 20 team in the AP poll.

It was the 4th-biggest of 20 upsets in 2016 Week 13, and the 65th-biggest of the 2016 season. It was Air Force's only upset win of 2016.
